Privacy Policy

Apartamento is an invite-only app for short-term sublets. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Apartamento app and website.

When you join and use Apartamento, you provide:

• Account details — your email address and a password, and the phone number you verify when you join.
• Profile — your first name and last initial, a profile photo, the city you live in, one line about yourself, and optionally your Instagram, LinkedIn, or TikTok handles. Social handles are optional and unverified.
• Listings and requests — photos and details of places you post or are looking for (dates, price, neighborhood, and similar).
• Messages — the conversations you have with other members through the app.
• Reports — if you report a problem, the information you submit and the account you report it about.

We collect basic technical information needed to run the service securely — such as your IP address, device and browser type, and app activity like sign-ins. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Apartamento shows how members are connected through invites. Your profile permanently shows who invited you, and other members can see the chain of invites that connects them to you. This visibility is core to how the app works and how trust is maintained.

• To operate the app — accounts, profiles, listings, messaging, and the invite system.
• To keep the network safe, review reports, and enforce our rules.
• To send you essential notifications (such as when someone opens a conversation with you).
• To meet legal obligations and protect against fraud and abuse.

Other members can see your profile (photo, name, city, one line, social handles if you added them), your invite chain, listings and requests you post, and messages within your conversations. Your email address and phone number are never shown to other members.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the app (for example, our hosting and database provider), and only as needed to provide the service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our members.

We keep your information while your account is active. Listings expire automatically at their end date. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

You can review and update your profile at any time in the app. You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and personal information, by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or the CCPA.

Apartamento is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page.
